Living Green Olympia: November 2012

If You LOVE Watching Home Renovation Shows......

If you are as intrigued as I am by seeing homes that look tired, neglected, dated, and downright ugly be transformed, then you may be interested in following a new website my real estate partner created.  It is called FlippingOlympia - and it highlights some pretty amazing local Olympia area projects.

These are NOT the type of "flips" where someone dashes on a new coat of paint over rotted wood, pretties things up and calls it a remodel.  These projects are ones where any repair issues are the first priority to correct; then adding energy efficiency - and then the making them beautiful part!

The website shows previous projects that have been completed and are either on the market or already sold.  There are before and after pictures that kind of blow my mind because you really can hardly believe the "after" photos are of the same house as in the " before" ones!  (And since I have seen them all in person in that before stage as well as after, I can vouch that they really, truly are the same house.)

Also included are current projects where you can see the before stage and then follow updates as the home renovations move forward toward some more amazing "after" stages.

There is something very satisfying about seeing an ugly duckling house turned into a beauty - and the benefits to the future owner, the neighbors, and the whole community make this even more rewarding.

So, if you just love watching homes being renovated, you will enjoy this website.  And if you get excited about the possibility of finding a home that can be turned into your dream home, this will really inspire you about just how big the changes can be (without totally blowing up your budget).

Check it out - and come "like" the Facebook page Flipping Olympia too!
