Extra Tiny to Super Sized Homes - What's For Sale in Olympia Area!

Are you curious about homes on the market in the Olympia area that are either extra tiny or super sized large?  Neither extreme is one that I end up searching for frequently (as in I can't even remember the last time).  When I am helping buyers hunt for homes to buy in the Olympia area, size IS almost always among the criteria we use in the search.  It's not at all unusual to have buyers searching for a home somewhere between 900 and 1500 square feet.  And many times I have clients looking for a home between 1600 and 2500 square feet.  Looking for homes up to 3500-4000 square feet isn't really unusual either. 

But, just for fun, I took a look to see what is on the market at the size extremes.  Here's what I found:

            Extra tiny homes:

                   Lake front home - 384 square feet - listed at $111,000

                   Saltwater front home - 583 square feet - listed at $219,900

                   Saltwater cabin - 540 square feet - listed at $425,000

                   River view cabin - 200 square feet - listed at $65,000

                   Lake view cabin - 352 square feet - listed at $205,000

 

Yes, there is most definitely a theme going on there - water front (or view with access) can make a very small footprint still an ideal place for a vacation getaway or second home - or maybe year round living (?).

             Supersized large homes:

                     Lake view home on 9+ acres - 7739 square feet - listed at $409,900

                     Saltwater front home on 22+ acres - 14,025 square feet - listed at $1,215,000

                     Another saltwater front home - 13,335 square feet - listed at $6,088,800

                     Home in gated golf community - 6672 square feet - listed at $429,950

                     Bay and mountain view home - 7145 square feet - listed at $1,250,000

Still a trend of water frontage or view, or other site amenities in addition to the really big size home.

So, what would attract you?  A tiny cabin or cottage on the water?  A home WAY bigger than average?
