Living Green Olympia: Lattins Cider Mill Olympia for Pumpkins, Cider, Apple Fritters - & Fun!

Lattins Cider Mill Olympia for Pumpkins, Cider, Apple Fritters - & Fun!

Lattins Cider Mill

A sunny October day is a perfect time to head to Lattins Cider Mill in Olympia WA.  On the weekends they serve their amazing warm apple fritters, so our first stop was to buy some of those along with spiced cider - plus a little bag of food to feed the animals (after we fed ourselves).

Lattins Cider Mill

The fritters are so gooey and yummy that although I thought maybe I'd eat half and save half for later, somehow the whole thing was gone before I knew it!  Definitely one of Lattins Cider Mill's specialty items & how ever many calories they have, it was worth it!

Next stop was a little stroll to see all the animals who were enjoying food from lots of kids.  Chickens, ducks, geese all got a little bit of food from the bag, but the little goats captured our attention with their insistent begging.  Lined up at the fence looking soooooo hungry - how could we resist feeding them?

Then a little detour through a maze that had us laughing at every wrong turn - my granddaughter thought this was such fun we had to go through twice (and still made a few wrong turns into dead end paths).

Then onward to the pumpkin patch to hunt for that perfect Halloween pumpkin.  With much discussion of whether we needed big ones or little, and whether they would have scary faces or silly, we tromped through the rows of all sizes and shapes of pumpkins.  There was a crowd there today, but likely Lattins Cider Mill will get even busier in the remaining days until Halloween.  What a fun outing!  Don't miss it.

All looks tempting Nancy!  Wish we were closer to take a taste of those fritters ... and grab a few pumpkins too.  Hope all is good out your way, the family is well, and business is healthy ...

I can go for one of those apply fritters right now.  Do you deliver to Ohio?  Shucks I guess I will have to make the drive out.

I love going to apple farms at this time of year. We would always pick some apples, get a few gallons of fresh apple juice, peanut brittle, and a hot bowl of soup with a slice of pie, apple of course. Then we would pick pumpkins and head home for a carving party making sure to save the seeds for roasting. The fall harvest is my favorite time of year. Thanks for sharing your day with your granddaughter.

Lola, it was a really fun day - & yes those fritters are beyond description yummy!

Hi Gene - yes we are doing well and enjoying a beautiful fall here.  My brother will be flying out from Plainfield later this month so we can all help Dad celebrate his 89th b'day!  Hope all is good for you too with family & business.

Well come on out for a visit Stella!  (Of course you might fall in love with this area & have to stay!! ) :)

Yep Michael - Lattins is a pretty entertaining place to visit year round - but the fall is special.

Thanks Bob!

Stan, you definitely want to taste those fritters out here in person - piping hot & amazing!  Come on out!

Hi George - your visits to apple farms sound wonderful - I like the idea of the warm soup along with the pie (yes, apple of course) and the pumpkin carving to round out the day.  Such a fun time of year!

Thanks Michael - & it's always funny to see what my granddaughter enjoys most - this time I think  it might have been the maze as it was the first time she did that and she thought it was hilarious.  Every wrong turn we took made her laugh out loud.

Thanks Leesa - we do go visit Lattins pretty much year round, but there's something special about the fall I think.

Thank you Lottie!!  When you come up this way, we might have to head out there...

Thanks for the great pictures, Nancy.  We just decided to head to Lattins later this week after seeing your blog.  Let's hope the sun sticks around for a few more days!

Hi Rick - I hope the sun holds out too!  Lattins is so much fun and not quite so crowded if you get a chance to go before weekend.  (Although I think they only have the apple fritters on the weekend & they are absolutely amazing!!!!!)
