Tanglewilde neighborhood in Lacey WA was developed in the late 1950's and early 60's and offers a variety of styles of homes on large lots.  The streets are wide and treed, and the community includes a 5.2 acre park that was donated to the community by developers Alvin & Evelyn Thompson.

This park is a great place for summertime fun especially with its outdoor swimming pool, playground, picnic benches and tennis courts - plus lots of grass for the kids to run and play.  Tanglewilde Recreation Center operates the pool and other park amenities.  Neighborhood residents get a discount on the cost of pool membership, but it is open to the general public too.

The Tanglewilde neighborhood includes an elementary school, Lydia Hawk, and is part of the North Thurston Public School district.  Many of the streets in Tanglewilde are named after sports teams - you will see Husky, Cougar, Wildcat, Viking etc.  Those street names and the large park were unique features that landed the neighborhood in the National Association of Homebuilders magazine when it was developed.

Tanglewilde neighborhood sounds like a great place to enjoy. I love the park -- what a wonderful place for kids to run through, and then the pool! Heaven!

This is one of the very few outdoor pools in our area, so a pretty special amenity for the neighborhood to enjoy!
