Living Green Olympia: Olympia Farmer's Market in the Fall

Olympia Farmer's Market in the Fall

I really, really love Olympia Farmer's Market all of the months it is open, but I think fall just might be one of my favorite times to stroll along through the market and shop.

Apples at Olympia Farmers Market

The produce has shifted from the berries of summer to apples of so many varieties that it is hard to choose, pumpkins, gourds, squash.  You can still get amazing baked goods, meat, seafood, eggs, honey - and the Chehalis mint candies are ready to purchase as a gift (if you can resist eating them up yourself).

Lots of craft items, jewelry, purses etc offer additional unique gift ideas if you are getting started on your holiday gift list.

The space heaters are ready for anyone needing a quick warm up in the chilly morning hours.  The salsa booths are wafting out scents of garlic, cilantro, and yumminess.

Musicians are on the stage to add beautiful sounds to go with all the beautiful sights of fall at Olympia Farmer's Market.

I've always been a fan of Farmer's markets.  Season is through here though.  I'll have to wait until next year!

Farmers markets are the best.  Finding local fall produce and baked goods are always special.

I know it Sharon - I love them!!  Ours stays open (though just on weekends now) until just before Christmas - then it always seems like such a long, long wait until they reopen in the spring.

Hi Cindy - yes, the local food items....and possible gift ideas make it kind of a weekly must stop for me!
