Living Green Olympia: Homemade For The Holidays Bazaar 2013 in Lacey Today!

Homemade For The Holidays Bazaar 2013 in Lacey Today!

The annual Homemade for the Holidays Bazaar is one of my favorites, and a friend and I did a little shopping there yesterday - knowing full well we just may have to go back again today, too. The bazaar is at Thurston County Fairgrounds in Lacey and today (Saturday, Nov. 2nd) the bazaar will be in high gear until 4 PM. The various vendor booths fill four different buildings at the fairgrounds and there were a LOT of really nice things to tempt the holiday shopper into getting a head start this year. Between my friend and I we admired beautifully handmade Barbie doll clothes, clever wooden signs that had a crowd chuckling out loud, gorgeous plant arrangements in baskets as pretty as the plants. There were cute little doggie or cat beds & toys, unique ornaments & holiday decorations, jewelry of all types imaginable, cleverly made wrist lanyards for your keys ( I might be able to find that in my purse!). We tried to quickly walk by some baked good booths without looking at the yummy treats, but a display of flavored vinegars for dipping or use as marinades captured us. And since there were multiple flavors available to sample on bread chunks or apple slices, we were "forced" to do some taste testing. The pear vinegar was SO yummy that I bought a bottle on the spot, but am realizing I am going to "need" several more so I have some to keep & some for gifts. And this is why it's a most excellent thing that the Homemade for the Holidays Bazaar is open again today! See you there (I might just be tasting more flavored vinegar!)

Hi Debb - and happy Sunday to you too! Those flavored vinegars are SO yummy! And that vendor had a page of recipes using them - trying a crock pot pork roast one that uses the pear vinegar sometime this week.....
