Living Green Olympia: Gingerbread House Competition 2013 in Olympia

Gingerbread House Competition 2013 in Olympia

One of our family's favorite holiday activities is always going to see the creative gingerbread houses at the annual event sponsored by Habitat for Humanity in Olympia.

The 2013 event will run from December 2nd - December 20th and is in a new location this year.  The gingerbread houses will be on display at the new Habitat Store at 400 Cooper Point Rd on the westside of Olympia.

These gingerbread creations always include some intricate and beautiful displays - and some great humor too.  Now if we can keep the grandkids from deciding to sample those tasty looking houses!

Habitat for Humanity is a worthwhile organization.  Glad to see it working well there in Olympia.

How delightful! Great that it supports Habitat for Humanity

Tim, Habitat really is a wonderful organization & I love helping support its efforts thru shopping/donating at its store - nice to see lots of recycling going on, too. The store's in a brand new location so the gingerbread houses should help introduce even more people to all it has to offer.

I agree Lottie! So nice to combine fun for the family with good things for our community!

Nancy, Kids have such fun decorating these and frankly so do we adults. My mom made us one each year and we got to decorate it. We sampled and decorated, and decorated and sampled.

That sounds like so much fun Debbie! The trick would be to not end up "sampling" the entire thing! LOL
